It’s that time of year when the weather starts to get colder and the leaves begin to change color. People come together to celebrate the joys of fall, and families head to local farms to pick pumpkins, enjoy apple cider, and get lost in corn mazes.
Fall activities become very popular this time of year, and the students at East have fall traditions and activities that they continue every autumn.
A common place for East students is Keller’s Farmstand, which offers a lot of different experiences, such as their famous apple orchard, a pumpkin patch, and a wide selection of donuts and other treats.
Sophomore Dom Britschge loves to celebrate the fall by spending time at Keller’s Farmstand.
“Keller’s farm is a classic, my family makes it a tradition to go at least once a year,” Britschge said.
Many students at East also work seasonal jobs at Keller’s Farmstand to help contribute to the welcoming fall environment provided.
Anthony Garcia, sophomore at East, enjoys his job at Keller’s farmstand because of his ability to contribute to family memories.
“Keller’s is a great job. I help out in the apple orchard and on the playground to make sure everyone has a good time.” Garcia said.
Another place for these fall festivities near East is Sonny Arces’s farm. Sonny Arces’s farm has a fall fest going on through Sept. 20 – Oct. 30, which offers an array of attractions such as a pumpkin patch, hayrides, petting zoo, and fun rides for the whole family.
Some families also like to celebrate fall at home by doing activities such as carving pumpkins, watching scary movies, and even buying fall items like desserts and candles.
No matter how people celebrate, the fall season has officially begun, and it is time for fall fans to engage in the festivities of their choice.
