Womens Empowerment Club Hosts First Meeting at East

East’s Womens Empowerment Club held their first meeting of the year on Thursday Sept 3. Club members and leaders are excited to have the opportunity to rebuild and welcome new members. 

The Women’s Empowerment Club Sponsor, Dr. Stephanie Krzeminski is a history teacher at East. 

“I love knowing that our club is responsible for making things a little easier for all girls in our building.” Krzeminski said. 

The Women’s Empowerment Club is known for doing activities that help make East a more accessible and welcoming place. They have put period products in many of the classrooms throughout the school as well as scattering hearts with complements throughout the school. 

Maja Fira is a senior this year and was a previous member of Women’s Empowerment Club.

“I really like the hearts that we write and put up around the school. I think it’s a fun thing to do and be a part of.” Fira said. 

Throughout the years the club has also been known for its strong community and welcoming environment that makes all members feel comfortable and seen. 

Addison Wise is a junior and this year’s Women’s Empowerment Club vice president.

“When I walk into meetings it’s like a weight is lifted. A lot of times you look forward to it all day. So once you get there, it’s an amazing feeling.” Wise says.
