National Education week is a time dedicated to appreciating schools nationwide which spans from Nov 18 to Nov 22. Despite the week’s brief nature, teachers dedicate much more of their time to benefitting the lives of their students. This week is important as it takes the time to appreciate our schools, teachers, education systems and even students.
Created by the National Education Association in 1921, students can use this week to acknowledge the efforts of their teachers and educators. This week is a time to honor those making a difference in education, as well as reflect on what schools can improve on.

Along with East’s variety of class options, East has a wide range of teachers that do their part in helping students learn.
Fellow East student Chris Markova finds respect for East teachers and their methods.
“Some of the teachers here are different from middle school and I’m able to independently and freely learn. The teachers are so easy to talk to, and it doesn’t feel like there’s so much pressure when you’re trying to finish your assignments,” Markova said.
East Freshman Toni Sy concurs, believing teachers create a positive learning environment for students.
