La-crossing into this week’s athlete of the week, East is focusing on Junior Aiden Fell. His coach, Patrick Fish, feels Fell exemplifies the E.A.S.T. values: Excellence, Academics, Spirit, and Tradition.

Fell played lacrosse from third grade up to freshman year. Hearing about the SD308 district getting a lacrosse team, he was eager to pick up his stick and play yet again.

Aiden’s mom, Elizabeth Fell, recognized how excited he was to be able to continue his sport.

“When he found out the team would be forming, he started practicing again all of the time to improve his lacrosse skills,” Fell’s parents said. “He went to the open gym opportunities and recruited as many peers as he could to come out and try to play with him.”

Fell has been all in on lacrosse since the open fields started and has been ready to make his mark on East’s lacrosse program.

Head boys coach, Patrick Fish, sees Fell’s sportsmanship and recognizes how he’s always willing to lend a helping hand to his teammates.

“Aiden is one of our co-captains, so from the very beginning, he was somebody that I identified that has wanted to build this program, be a great player, and be a great teammate and make others better,” Fish said.

Fell has been extremely involved in athletics at East over the past three years, being a four-sport athlete, two of which are spring sports happening simultaneously.

“Being a multi-sport athlete has provided Aiden the opportunity to grow physically, mentally, and socially,” Elizabeth Fell said. “Being in two spring sports has taught Aiden how to manage his time.”

As well as being a committed athlete, Fell is a heavily involved student at East making him a great example for all those around him.

“As a student, Aiden shows determination to always do his best in his classes,” Fell’s parents said, “Aiden is hardworking and goal-oriented. Once he sets his mind to something, he works very hard to accomplish his goals.”

Fell has set himself up for success in his future with his work ethic and determination, which will no doubt lead him in the right direction. With one more year left at East, he has a great future ahead of him and is definitely a student-athlete to watch.
