October is almost here, and students and staff are beginning to prepare for the fall season. From adding more layers and adjusting their daily routines students and faculty are finding different ways to get ready for this time of year.

Junior at East, Addison Killham has officially started her transition into fall.

“I put up my fall decor and I start to wear my fall outfits,” Killham said.

The transition into fall not only impacts students and staff’s wardrobe but also their daily schedules. East staff member Michelle Strnad shared some of her yearly changes.

“During the summer, I am able to sleep in until 7 am. When school starts, I have to go back to using alarms and my school alarm goes off at 4:30 am,” Strnad said.

The change into fall impacts beyond just outfits and weather, daily habits change, influencing the experience of the school year.

As students adjust to the changing weather, they are also finding new ways to enjoy the season since the cooler weather can make it harder to do so. Junior at East, Madi Engel shared her favorite ways to keep her spirits high during the shift.

“I like to find a good fall candle and put up a bunch of cute fall decor in my room,” Engel said.

The transition into fall is already affecting how students and staff approach their days, and these changes are becoming more and more noticeable throughout the school.
